About ChemTools

About ChemTools

ChemTools develops practical engineering software for process engineers.

Our tools are designed to solve real engineering problems with a focus on speed, reliability and technical accuracy.

Unlike general-purpose process simulators, ChemTools focuses on specific engineering calculations that engineers perform every day.

Why ChemTools exists

Pressure relief calculations are often performed using spreadsheets, manual standards and expensive simulation software.

ChemTools was created to provide engineers with fast, reliable calculations that can be performed anywhere—even without an internet connection.

The goal isn’t to replace engineering judgement, but to make routine calculations significantly faster.

FAQ

Is Pressure Relief Tool free?

We offer a monthly or a discounted annual subscription. The first week is free! See pricing below.

Does the app work offline?

Performing calculations and saving results do not require an internet connection, however, the sharing of results does.

Will more tools be added?

ChemTools is expanding to include additional process engineering tools based on user needs. These are listed in the RoadMap section further below.

Who is Pressure Relief Tool for?

Process/chemical engineers, mechanical engineers, technical specialists, and anyone who needs fast, reliable engineering calculations.

Roadmap

ChemTools is expanding. Planned additions include:

  • API 2000 calculations for sizing pressure relief systems for storage tanks
  • Two-phase calculator (API 520 Annex C)
  • Implementation of the UNIFAC model to account for non-ideality in liquids
  • Calculators for specific relief scenarios, e.g. control valve failure, pool-fire etc.
  • Web‑based versions of selected tools
  • A Peng-Robinson binary interaction parameter (BIP) regression tool for users who wish to fine-tune the

Development priorities are based on user feedback and real‑world engineering needs.
